A visit from Nana, Papa and Great-Gma Hinrichs

Last Sunday Nana and Papa Hohlen came to town for a quick visit. They brought Great-Gma Hinrichs along with them. Carter enjoyed playing outside in the water with them, and also the pizza bday party we had for Great-Gma. We always have fun when they come to see us!!

Chub-T-dub

Todd and I have both been saying how chubby our little TW has been getting and this week at his 6 month well-baby appointment this was confirmed as he weighed in at 19 lbs. 15 oz!!! Whoa! That's a whole 2 lbs. heavier than Carter at this age! At least he's getting longer too - he measured 28" long.

Nigh-Night Trucks

One day this week Carter decided at naptime that his trucks needed to nap too! So he lined them all up on the top of his garage toy and proceeded to cover them up with a blanket - so cute!! Then he went a uncovered them after his nap and re-covered them at bedtime. What a clever guy he is.

His first swing ride - love love loved it!

We love our TW and are so excited to see what the next month brings!

Happy Anniversary Gpa Ken and Gma Lillian

Last week my grandparents celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary!

For the past 15 years (less a few years when I was in college) they have lived in the same town as I (first Ord, now Lincoln). It has been very special to have them close by! I remember when they first moved to Ord they lived in our driveway in their RV - I loved going out and playing dominoes with Gma. They soon found a house of their own in town and I continued to enjoy going over to see them for dominoes, cream soda and granola bars.

I didn't realize back then how good I had it and I still probably take it for granted sometimes. My grandparents are the nicest people in the world and they tell some amazing stories. Gpa talks often about WW2, airplanes and the ways that God has been faithful to him and his family over the years. Gma tells stories of how they first met, raising 5 kids and all the exciting people and places they've know over time. We are so blessed to have them in town - a few minutes away in fact- and to be able to interact with them regularly allowing our boys grow up knowing their great-grandparents!

Happy Anniversary! We love you Grandpa and Grandma!!!
